Poker Face, Hiding Behind A Mask

Hiding Behing A Mask

A face with expression that can’t be read by other people. I think this is pretty much the same as putting a “mask” to hide your true expression.

Do you put masks on your daily life?

If you haven’t understand, mask is referred to fake expressions we give to other people. Usually because we want to have other people’s approval and acceptance, afraid to show our true feelings because we are scared about being hurt or hurting others feelings. Though it may seem a good thing, people who wear mask deep down there must feel lonely and distant, afraid of showing his/her true personality, which makes it hard to build up a strong relationship.

Why?

I believe no one out there want to. It is just people are scared, like I stated above. When somebody know what other people love, and in order to have a good relation, people tend to try to become “that person” which others like. Changing negative things to positive sure is good, but that usually is not the case.

M A S K

Presenting the “mask” to please everybody seem a good idea to build a relationship. However, pretending to be somebody you are not is… fake. It is like you are building a house ready to explode anytime. Also heavy and tiring because you are putting big weight on yourself as you cannot show your genuine self.

I’m not some expert nor I am 100% mask free. Though kind of confused, is manner can be categorized as using a mask or what. There is a video out there who is pretty good at explaining this situation. She says it is like Halloween where people put mask plus costume and be somebody else, the difference is just lot people do that on daily basis. You can see the video here@Youtube (speaker: Katie Freiling). And also a good article by David Truman which you can read here.

I am just hoping that I too, can be more free from this mask thingy, which I think… accidentally? I never even think about putting on a mask or something like that, actually. All the best for you guys, have a great day!

the only time any one should have on their poker face is when they are playing poker. Hiding your true self from people gets you know where. Good luck with the rest of the postaday2011 challenge. Im doing it also.
